Frequently Asked Questions
What are they made of?

The Fresh Snack Packtm  is made of 4mm thick EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) and is made to be reusable and thus reduce lunch and snack waste.  EVA is the same material that has been recently used for baby teethers and for a variety of vinyl and foam products.  According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) website and the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) website - EVA is safe for storage and contact with food.

EVA is a type of plastic that does not require a plasticizer and is bisphenol-A (BPA) free and phthalate free, so it is considered to be non-toxic.  And tested lead-free.  A good website with information about safe plastics is
The Soft Landing and this article by Alicia Voorhies called What is EVA and Why is it in My Baby's Teether?  Also The Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CEHJ) recommends EVA as a safer PVC-free plastic alternative.

We have had our bags lab tested to be non-leaching by SGS based in New Jersey.

The package doesn't say that they are BPA-free but your website does.  Are they BPA-free?

Yes. BPA is a plastic hardener and usually associated with polycarbonate hard, clear plastics - and our bags are made of soft material, EVA plastic doesn't contain BPA.   This is a question that we are often asked, so we felt that we would mention it on our website.  We have limited space on our packaging and need to mention the relevant facts and details.

How do I clean them?

Simple.  Just wash inside and out with warm water and soap.  Then rinse and hang dry or towel dry.  Our how to clean page has links to great baggie dryers available on the web.

Wash them after use and hang to dry as food sitting in the bags and left in your lunchbox can stain.  Below is a list of some foods that can stain the bags.

What kinds of foods stain?

We have found:

yellow mustard
carrots (if you use the same bag day after day)

Where are they made?

They are made in China.  We are working with wonderful people at a facility that has been certified ISO 9001 and given the Disney Code of Conduct.  Our product page has more detail.
How long should they last?

This is very individual.  Just like finally getting rid of an old plastic container.  90 day guarantee against defects of the bags, if you need assistance please contact us.  We really want you to be happy with the product.  The length of time that you will be able to use them depends on your usage.  If you use them everyday with care and wash them nightly they should last dozens of times.

How quickly do you ship?

Your order will ship within 48 hours via USPS.  Larger orders will ship with UPS.
Do you ship internationally?

Yes, but  you must email first for the shipping charges.  If you order without contacting us your total will appear without any shipping calculated.
Can I recycle them?

We usually cut the velcro® off of the bags and toss them into the recycling.  Whether every area will recycle them is not for certain...but the best way to get it into the right hands is to put it in the recycling bin.  If you mail them back to us we will offer you 25% off your next order and we will send them in bulk to the recycler in Los Angeles.
How do I make a return?

We will accept any unopened bags for a refund.  Just email us first.  If you bought them on our website we can give you a Paypal credit for the cost of the bags minus shipping.  90 day guarantee if you have a receipt from the vendor (even if you didn't buy it from our website) we will send a replacement if it's within 90 days of purchase.

Do you work with organizations for fundraisers?

Yes.  We have partnered with Koru Fundraising and we will work with your individual school or church.  Just email us for more info.
